Whether it is books, courses, or other tools, the world is filling up with resources that can help us do the things we want and get the things we want.
But in this sea of resources, what is significantly rarer is the solution that actually does the thing. Taking knowledge that can be used to solve a problem and instead of just sharing it, going a step further and creating the solution to the problem for others.
You can think of Airbnb as an example of this. The founders had specific knowledge about how to use the internet to find people that will pay to stay in your house. They could have tried to sell that information, but they chose to build a solution that does the job for you. So today Airbnb doesn’t teach you how to rent out rooms in your house, it finds people to rent the rooms in your house, and as a result, facilitates billions of dollars worth of transactions.
There is nothing wrong with creating resources, but creating solutions will set you apart and bring higher rewards.
