Most of us make the transition from the bubble of school, college, and family life into the hard reality of professional life and are tempted to flee back to the protective embrace of our comfort zone.
But if you are safely in your comfort zone, you will never learn the lessons you need to learn to be an effective employee or entrepreneur because starting a career and learning how to work is always going to be challenging and uncomfortable.
Handling the challenges that come from facing this uncomfortable transition is a topic I’ve thought about a lot about over the past ten months in my role helping young people launch their careers. It is also a topic I’ve written about in many of my daily blog posts.
I probably have two dozen posts about work, but if I was able to send only a few of my own blog posts back to myself at 21 when I was starting my first professional job, these are the post I would send.
