Immigration is like gold washing up on the shores of a country. But the people coming in as immigrants are massively more valuable than gold.
Humans are the most valuable resource on the planent. When we can add productive people to our communities, cities, and countries, we are all better off, but almost every government around the world turns them away.
Even the most pro-immigration countries tend to be just as backwords as the anti-immigration countries when it comes to recognizing the value of immigrants. They argue that immigrants should be accepted for humanitarian reasons, and as a result turn away tons of productive people.
They accept refugees, but turn away productive and valuable people from countries like India and China.
We should accept immigration, not because it is a charitable thing to do, but because it makes us better off.
The US was able to become the richest country on earth, because the most productive and ambitious people from all over the world moved there. Today the US and almost every other developed country around the world is actively blocking and trying to disuade immigration, turning against the very thing that led to their development.
They are finding gold on their doorstep and instead of picking it up, employ a massive beauracracy to attempt to sweep it back to the mine it came from.
