There are many moments in life when you will have the opportunity to sacrifice your principles for momentary gain. Financial or social situations that only require you to ignore the voice in your head telling you this probably isn’t the right thing to do.
But the benefits you gain from choosing convenience over character will always be paid back in self-esteem. You may gain more money, but you can’t use that money to buy back what you’ve lost.
The only way to earn self-esteem is through actions you believe are right and at the end of your life that feeling of knowing you lived right will matter a lot more than the amount of money you have in the bank.
