Yesterday I made the 8-hour drive from Alberta back to my hometown in B.C. to drop some things off at my parent’s house. I love a good long drive a couple times a year as a way to enjoy the scenery, catch up with some good music, and power through some interesting podcasts.
I used the drive yesterday to listen to binge listen to Hidden Forces, an interesting podcast that I’ve recently discovered. The host of the show, Demetri Kofinas, conducts in-depth interviews on a number of topics, all from a very in-depth and future-focused perspective. I’ve listed to close to ten episodes in the past three weeks since discovering it and enjoyed them all, but if you’re looking for a new show to listen to, a great place to start would be with a couple of the episodes he has on China:
- The Rise of Xi Jinping and the Dawn of a New Imperial China
- Dinny McMahon | Debt, Dysfunction, and the End of the Chinese Miracle
After listening to the episode with Dinny McMahon, I got his book China’s Great Wall of Debt and started down the fascinating rabbit hole of learning about China.
It’s a special treat to discover something great that has a massive backlog you can catch up on and I’m excited to catch up with the one year + of episodes from Hidden Forces.
