The centrally managed society is hell. But for people living in a chronic state of fear, it feels like heaven.
It looks like a place where they don’t have to worry about their safety. Where they don’t have to worry about providing for themselves, where they don’t have to take responsibility for their health or the development of their children.
The weight of responsibility we bear as adults feels heavy, but we should know by now to be skeptical of utopia. Life is hard, we face difficult choices and challenging times, but it is through these hard times that we learn to see the good.
It is through taking more responsibility, overcoming obstacles, and supporting ourselves and our families that we earn self-esteem.
It is through righteous action in difficult situations that you find your way to heaven. And it is through abandoning responsibilities and becoming reliant on others that you find your way to hell.
2030 is not 8 years away, it is today for some people, tomorrow for others, and for a few who choose the path of responsibility, 2030 will never arrive. It is a choice we face about our own futures and how we will approach our own lives.
