The moments in our lives go flying by. And telling yourself to be present doesn’t help.
When you start thinking about how you want to savor a moment of your life, you get further away from actually being in that moment.
Time will pass us by. We will arrive at old age with the advantage of perspective and see decisions we could have made differently in the past.
Today, everyone is scared of working too much because they’ve seen the story of someone who regrets spending time working instead of with their family.
This happens a lot in TV shows and movies. I don’t know how much it happens in real life.
I do know that being neurotic about living in the moment isn’t much different than overworking.
Being present in a moment is about detaching from expectations. Being present is about engaging with what is in front of you. Thinking about what you’re thinking about and doing what you’re doing without judgment.
