If you are the best in the world, like Michael Jordan, or even just someone who has high-level skills and a strong network of professional contacts you can do a lot of things differently than the average person.

If you emailed Elon Musk 50 times and he finally responds, you’re going to feel incredible. If someone emails an intern at work twice and they don’t respond, they are going to write them off for future opportunities.
If you have no valuable skills whatsoever and no professional connections, doing what Elon Musk or the CEO of the company does probably isn’t a good idea.
Michael Jordan can gamble, smoke, and be a dick to people because he is Michael Jordan. You aren’t, so instead focus on being a solid person who is easy to work with. Don’t say no to meetings, don’t be slow to respond to emails, just take care of your responsibilities, be reliable and reachable and over time develop new skills.
