Sometimes in life it’s hard to make a decision because you don’t know what is the best option.
At other times, we know what the right thing is, but are tempted by another path.
Maybe a waiter leaves something off the bill. It would be easy to say nothing and walk out with $20 you would have spent. It is times like these when you have moral clarity, a voice in your head saying you should say something, but you also feel a temptation to create excuses and avoid that truth.
In situations like this, if you choose what is easy or convenient for yourself over what you believe to be right, you will always pay the price. The $20 you get off your bill comes directly out of your self-esteem. The bigger the self-deception, the deeper the hard to your self-esteem.
So when you face a situation like this in your life, the choice is simple, do the right thing.
