When you are doing something you want to be doing, you don’t make excuses not to do it.
You might get sick, have a family emergency, a different plan might get in the way, but when that happens you do your best to work around it.
When you are doing something for reasons that are not your own, you use events as a permission slip to get out of doing the work.
Wake up with a cough? No school today.
Family vacation? No gym this week.
When you hit the first bump in the road it becomes evident who is there because they want to be there and who isn’t. People who really want to be there overcome it and quickly find their way to significantly better results.
People that are looking for permission to get out of something fail, or worse, stick around and get mediocre results. But life is too short to be spending your time going through the motions with things you don’t really care about. If you’re living your life, spending your time on things you want a permission slip to get out of, you are on a path to miserable results and a depressing future.
