The definition of priority is,the fact or condition of being regarded or treated as more important.
The way you get to where you want to be in life is by deciding on a direction and then moving towards it despite the forces that want you to go somewhere else.
This means setting your priority and making it your priority. Not letting the other things that are not the most important thing take up your time. Not letting yourself treat anything else as more important than your priority.
If you ask most people what their priority is (and I’m no different) you will hear them struggle to come up with one thing. When they do, if you look at how they invest their time, you will find most people invest a lot of time in things that aren’t their priority.
We all have many things that are important to us–family, health, fitness, friends, and hobbies. But in life, we can’t have it all and so in order to get the things you really want, you have to make sacrifices in the areas of things you just kind of want.
You may want to get fit, but if growing your income is more important to you you should spend more hours on that than you do at the gym.
If writing a book is a high priority for you, but you don’t spend any time writing and will instead spend hours on social media every week then it’s time to look at yourself in the mirror and decide if you are lying to yourself or hiding from what’s really important.
What is your priority? Is the amount of time you are investing in that day-to-day in line with its importance to you? If not, what do you need to get off your schedule to make it so.
