For the past 102 days, I’ve written a blog post and published it here. Today, I woke up feeling sick and have felt worse as the day has gone on.
I pushed through my work and calls for the day but was ready to go to bed when I remembered that I didn’t write anything today. Once I realized that I didn’t even think for a second about going to bed without writing. I turned around and went back to my computer to write.
That is the power of building a daily practice. When you do things when you feel like it, days come up quickly that knock you off course. When you commit to doing something daily, every day that goes by adds to your momentum.
When you’ve done anything for 100 days in a row it takes a monumental disruption to convince yourself to skip the habit.
